SPAMalama

I get asked a lot about how to deal with SPAM email.

I've had client's yell (and even threaten) because their Inbox would constantly get inundated with the latest offers from: Viagra, Cialis, Nigerian money swapping scams and porn... Lots of porn.

I've always hated to say "...there's not a lot I can do to help...", but the truth was-- there wasn't much I could do.

Along came Gmail. Gmail is Google's (I hope you know who Google is) answer to email. It's a free service, it's web-based, but can be accessed by your email program (Outlook), they give you 2gb+ of space for your messages so you never have to delete your emails, which comes in handy when you're trying to find that one message from a year ago that will save your day. There are a host of other benefits, but for me these are the biggies.

In short, they do it right.

I don't have to deal with Spam emails or viruses anymore.

Gmail, in web time, is pretty old. They released the application back in 2004. The reason I'm writing about this now is because just today the Spam issue came up again and sure enough, Gmail solved the problem.

There are other client-level Spam solutions available, Cloudmark is another I've recommended, but for the money [free!]... Gmail is the better option. By a long shot!
