In late January, The Brainstorm Lab spent three days at the Georgia World Congress Center, providing a "Live Press Room" services for the Celebration of a New Baptist Covenant's inaugural event. It was our job to be on-site, providing rapid processing and posting of articles, photos and videos.

The event drew an estimated 15,000 persons, and included keynote speakers such as President Jimmy Carter, Author John Grisham, and Marian Wright Edleman among others. As such, the event drew broad press coverage, with more than 60 journalists from around the world covering the event.

The "Live Press Room" is an internet-age requirement for today's events. People have come to expect immediate access to news, photos and video from events. Organizers know that providing this rapid access enlarges their audience and builds energy for their initiatives. 

The organizers of the New Baptist Covenant asked the Brainstorm Lab to provide specific communications services during the event.  These included:

- Website updates: Rapid posting new press releases and their associated photos to the organization's website . Posting updates and announcements about the event to the site.

- Photography: With six professional photographers snapping photos with digital cameras, more than 10,000 photos were taken during the three day event. Photographers brought their memory cards to our station, where the photos were tagged and downloaded to our server. Each day, the top photos were selected, edited and uploaded to the daily photo gallery on the site. See the daily galleries here. The entire collection was uploaded to a website where journalists could find and download the photos needed to support their stories.

- Online Video: The New Baptist Covenant drew an estimated 15,000 persons to their event, but additional viewers tuned in over the internet. The Brainstorm Lab captured the video feed for the keynote speakers from the floor cameras and rendered them to on-demand videos posted on the organization's website . Speaker's videos were online, in most cases, within an hour of having spoken. We also provided live streaming for the event's opening press conference.
